RESys System Requirements
RESys will run on most Windows systems that support the .NET framework, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Since only standard .NET functionality is used, all RESys modules should run on any .NET enabled system, including Linux using the Mono framework.
Since RESys can handle large quantities of data, such as well logs, geological property grids and production data, sufficient memory (RAM) is important for smooth operation. Minimum recommended RAM is 1 GB, although more is always better. For projects involving hundreds of wells, 1 GB is probably marginally workable unless all other applications are closed. For larger projects, 4 GB or more RAM is recommended.
Since RESys uses internal databases to organize data, sufficient disk space is needed to hold the database file. Note that RESys uses a variety of database formats to store all project information. The size of these files will depend on the data, but generally several GB of disk space should be available for moderate sized projects (up to 1000 wells).
Most RESys modules are graphics intensive to allow interactive data entry, manipulation and visualization. Although RESys uses only standard Windows graphics, the better the screen resolution, the better RESys will appear to the user. Although RESys can be run with any WIndows compatible graphic card and screen, a minimum of 1024 x 768 pixels will be crowded. Multiple monitors can be used by configuring Windows.
